Colourschool Artist in Residence
Justine A. Chambers concludes colourschool’s artist in residency program for January. Justine’s movement studies have explored the possibilities, limitations, and emotions inherent in various colour lines. Investigating simple states of being and the natural geometry of the body has been the departure point for her investigation, which will be presented at colourschool later this month.

Host Biographies
Justine Chambers is a Vancouver-based independent contemporary dance artist, who was principal dancer and rehearsal director for Desrosiers Dance Theatre and a member of Diavolo Dance Theater in Los Angeles. Justine has worked with a number of independent choreographers worldwide including: Roxanne Huilmand (Brussels), Kota Yamazaki (Japan), Julia Sasso, Turbo Bonz Dance Projects, Atlas Moves Watching Dance Projects, Vicki St. Denys, Sonya Biernath, Princess Productions, Heidi Strauss, and Darryl Tracy. In addition to being on faculty at Ryerson University, Dance Teq, The Quinte Ballet School, and the Teacher’s Collective in Toronto, she was invited to hold master classes at McMaster University, Park Avenue Dance Company (Rochester, NY), and for Dance Fuzion Conventions. She also works actively as a rehearsal director and has notably directed a remount of James Kudelka’s Soudain L’Hiver Dernier. Chambers has created 6 contemporary dance pieces, four of which were commissions, and has collaborated on theatre projects as a movement coach and choreographer. She was featured in David Bowie’s music video_ Dead Man Walking_ and has appeared in Canadian television specials, films, and in international industrial performances.
